5/11/12 – East Meadow, NY — On May 11th, over 230 friends and supporters of The De La Salle School gathered at The Carltun in Eisenhower Park, East Meadow to celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of the school and honor the founding Board of Trustees. When the school opened in 2002 there were eleven fifth grade students. Today the private independent Catholic school has 62 students (77 % of whom qualify for free or reduced price federal lunch) and maintains contact with 77 alumni all of whom possess a high school diploma or are in the process of earning one.
