Prince of Peace…
The District of Eastern North America (DENA) presents the 12th annual Christmas Card Contest, open to middle school students in 7th and 8th grades, as well as all high school students in grades 9-12.
The card will be sent to the Brothers and their communities, schools & ministries, DENA leaders, and other Lasallians throughout the District.
This year’s theme combines Isaiah 9:6 and Luke 4:18, and a recent reflection from our Superior General
“For a child is born to us, a son is given to us…They name him Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah)
This Prince of Peace will “preach the gospel to the poor…proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed…” (Luke)
In this year of uncertainty, injustice, and unsustainability, we as Lasallians “are called to be proactively involved in concrete actions that free people from all kinds of oppression. When we do this, we indeed bring good tidings to the poor, the sick and the suffering.” (Br. Robert Schieler, FSC)
In this joyous season, let us invite the “Prince of Peace” to live in our hearts, and bring good tidings to those most in need throughout our world.
