The Guardian of the Holy Family
Meet the Artist: William DiResta
Christian Brothers Academy
Lincroft, NJ
Age 15 | Sophomore
William DiResta, a West Long Branch native, is a Sophomore at Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, New Jersey. Crediting his father, Thomas, Will says he’s been interested in art his whole life. “My dad paints as a hobby, so he really helped me to take interest in all things art whether it be painting or drawing, or other forms.”
Painting, drawing, writing, movies, and spaceflight, creativity is a strong suit for Will. He also participates in the Pegasus Yearbook and French Club at CBA.
When asked about his inspiration for his artwork, Will felt confident about depicting this year’s theme. “I felt that I could properly portray the theme of “The Guardian of the Holy Family” because Joseph is an important figure in Jesus’ life. Mary is often portrayed as the most important in the life of Jesus, but remembering Joseph is the protector and guide of the Holy Family, I displayed him prominently in the artwork.”
