Narragansett, RI – Over 120 Child Welfare Professionals gathered at Ocean Tides in early May for a day of professional development and learning from each other about issues and current trends in child welfare. Keynote speaker, Adam Foss, started the day challenging all to consider the need for a civil rights movement in our time, and asked participants to reflect on how they are making the best use possible of their “shields and swords” when caring for young people and families. Ocean Tides and Tides Family Services were also grateful for the many child welfare professionals who conducted break out sessions for further training.
