Lincroft, NJ – Brother Dennis Lee visited Brother John McMahon’s ‘Book Circle’ recently to talk about CTIE. The group of eight has been eager to hear from the ‘busy’ Brother Visitor, as the first book this group read five years ago, was about Kibera, a slum in Nairobi.
John’s readers are asked to make a donation to CTIE seasonally instead of to John. The group usually reads and discusses books on different aspects of spirituality.
The members are not shy and their sharing is more like ‘group’ spiritual direction with everyone sharing and also listening to one another. Five women and three men gather in the chapel at De La Salle Hall weekly. Brother Floyd Warwick represents the resident brothers of DLSH with the other members from the Lincroft area. This weekly event at DLSH, and other volunteer efforts like quiet prayer sessions, reiki treatments, and singing old songs help to make John’s retirement ‘precious.’
