One always knows when Brother Brian Henderson, FSC, an outgoing, energetic man, is near. He’s quick to joke, and share in a hearty laugh.
A Christian Brother for almost 35 years, Brian is a Philadelphia boy, born and raised. Much of his life’s service is dedicated to the youth at St. Gabriel’s Hall in Audubon, Pennsylvania. With over 15 years of collective service at the Hall, first as a Child Care Worker, then later returning as a Director of Residential Services, and currently the Director for the institution, Brother possesses a most generous and open heart, which very much matches his tall stature. A keen ear and Brian’s ability to listen, make him a compassionate presence to the court adjudicated youth, as well as to the staff at St. Gabriel’s Hall.
A speaker on subjects Lasallian, Brian has been a director for Young Lasallian and Lasallian Volunteers’ retreats, as well as a presenter to Faculties and Boards for reflection on Lasallian Educational themes or opening school sessions.
When Brian is not “burning the midnight oils” at the Hall, you’ll find him 
catching up on his favorite sports teams along with his community, and fellow Lasallians. So much the sports fan, the Lasallian Volunteers named their annual LV alumni and friends bracketology challenge after him. No Brother from the city of brotherly love would be figuratively complete without the love for his hometown Phillies baseball team. You can catch Brian in a lively debate with the young Brothers of the Jeremy House formation community as to which team might be best, but it is almost guaranteed, if the team calls Philadelphia its home, it’s at the top of Brian’s list.

It’s been many years .. i have never forgotten you. Do you remember, many years ago, Jerry Porto? Back when you were in Germantown, with Brother Bud? My dad made stained glass and worked there as a carpenter? I’m Ann Marie, his daughter. I am glad to see you are doing well. Would love to hear from you and so would my dad.

Goodness, I did not see this comment until now! Looking for something else I came across this just today.
Indeed I remember you all, wonderful neighbors on Gowen Ave! The stained glass window your Father gave us still remains prominently displayed in our parlor sitting room at the current Jeremy House, a short walk from the original. If you send me an email address, I would happily send you a picture of how the De La Salle stained glass now presents in our house.
Hard to believe it forty years ago I lived as a Scholastic, now we call the new Brothers Postulants, at Jeremy House. I have lived here at the new Jeremy House for over twenty years now as a “Fully Professed” Brother to give witness and accompany those who are new today.
Would welcome hearing from you with the hope all is well with your family. Thank you for reaching out as I regret it has taken me over two years to see and respond. I think of you all often, especially when walking in the neighborhood past the old Jeremy House. I always wonder where you all are and how you all are doing.
