Riverdale, NY – Brother Daniel Gardner, FSC has been appointed by the Manhattan College Board of Trustees to serve as interim college president, effective July 1, 2022, following Brennan O’Donnell as Manhattan College’s 19th president.
Br. Daniel has served the college in several capacities including leadership roles in the Office of Admissions and the Center for Graduate School and Fellowship Advisement. His tenure with the college also includes serving as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Religious Studies, the Camino Program and the School of Science.
A familiar face on campus, Br. Daniel is an accomplished administrator, an intellectually accomplished academic and a powerful fundraiser.
Prior to his service to the college, Br. Dan attended LaSalle University both for his undergraduate degree in English Literature as well as his graduate degree in Theology and Pastoral Studies. Brother Dan is pursuing his doctorate in ministry at The Catholic University of America. He has both taught and served as a principal at a number of secondary schools in the tri-state area.
Br. Daniel’s strong commitment to the wider community is evident through his extensive list of leadership roles in a broad number of educational organizations. His Board of Trustee service has included: LaSalle University, St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, St Gabriel’s School, Aquinas High School and the SRC Outreach Center.
He holds active memberships in the American Academy of Religion, the College Theology Society, the National Association of Fellowship Advisors, the National Association of Pre-Law Advisors, the National Association of Pre-Health Advisors, The New York C.S. Lewis Society, and Spiritual Directors International.
