Founder of the San Miguel Educational model to receive the Br. John Johnston, FSC Award
11/1/13 – Providence, RI – As part of the closing Mass for the Rhode Island Lasallian Formation Day, Mr. Alan Weyland, Executive Director of Mission and Ministry for the District, made a public announcement to all gathered that Br. Lawrence Goyette, FSC, would receive the 2013 Br. John Johnston, FSC Award.
Surrounded by close to 300 of his Lasallian colleagues from all five Rhode Island Lasallian ministries, Brother Lawrence, who had been previously notified that he had been selected for the prestigious award, was surprised by Mr. Weyland’s publicizing of the news, as Weyland read the criteria for the Regional Office’s highest honor.
