A La Salle University graduate in 1974 and 1982, Br. Dennis was awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters degree.

Philadelphia, PA – Brother Dennis Malloy, FSC, ’74, ’82, currently on assignment in Ireland, came to Philadelphia to be honored by La Salle University. His alma mater awarded him a Doctor of Humane Letters degree, honoris causa, at the University’s 156th commencement exercises on Sunday May 12, 2019. In his comments to those assembled, Brother Dennis wove a quote from Robert Kennedy, the words of Pope Francis, and his own experience at the Lasallian Youth and Family Services ministry, Saint Gabriel’s System, into an inspiring exhortation.

“Lasallian education is about forming knowledgeable and engaged citizens who are motivated by the Gospel to make the world more like God intends it to be—this is God’s work and it is our work as well,” Br. Dennis said.
