District Council
Brother Edmond Precourt, FSC was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, and attended St. Raphael Academy, in Pawtucket. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C and Masters from St Mary’s University in Minnesota.
Br. Edmond’s career is impressive and varied, working as a teacher and administrator at La Salle Military Academy from 1970 to 1985, and serving as President and Financial Manager for Bright Day Travel Agency from 1982 to 1984. In 1985 he moved to Rhode Island to serve as Principal of Ocean Tides School, a nationally acclaimed at-risk treatment program for young men from 1985-1993. Following his time at Ocean Tides, Edmond became Auxiliary Visitor for the legacy Long Island – New England District from 1993 to 1996 before moving to the nearby Prout School.
Over about a four year period as Principal at The Prout School, Edmond transformed the 7th-12th grade diocesan school into a full fledged interscholastic 9th- 12th grade high school, expanding enrollment from approximately 320 to 540 students, with a competitive statewide academic and athletics program.
In 2004, Br. Edmond was elected Visitor of the legacy Long Island – New England District, where he served for five years, as the new District of Eastern North America was being created.
An aficionado of theater, singing, and sports, Edmond has served as a consultant for Education and Fund Raising, and on numerous boards and committees, including the District Council.
