Washington, DC – Br. Paul Avvento led a Lenten Adult Faith Night at St. John’s College High School on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. This was held the evening before Ash Wednesday and a wonderful way for parents to begin and enter into Lent. Br. Paul, with the help of parents, addressed the theme, “Making the Most of Lent”. Thirteen parents attended and were interested in learning more and sharing about Lent. There was open dialogue, small group discussion as well as input from Br. Paul. Two parents, Marrisa Thomas and Bob Storz also gave witness talks, addressing customs undertaken in their own families and obstacles that can get in the way as life is lived with suggestions on how to negotiate around those obstacles. Parents in attendance reacted positively to the event and shared an enthusiasm to begin building an adult faith community at St. John’s.
