Darien, Illinois – Brothers Paul Avvento, Steven Barbaro, David Deradoorian, JD Macioce, and Kyle Mena joined eight other Brothers in initial formation from RELAN at the Carmelite Spiritual Center, February 7th – 9th. This gathering of Brothers takes place twice a year and is an opportunity for Brothers to share experiences, pray, and discuss important issues as they discern their vocations.
Br. John Mark Falkenhain, OSB was the keynote presenter for the weekend. He delivered five sessions focusing on the theme, “Living the Celibate Life as Brother.” Br. John was engaging and practical in his approach and well received by the thirteen Brothers in initial formation who attended the weekend. The San Francisco New Orleans District hosted the weekend, organized by Br. Nick Gonzalez. Also in attendance were Brothers Richard Galvin, Thomas Johnson, and Larry Schatz.
