March 27, 2013 – In only its second year of competition, Calvert Hall’s Robotics team won the Battle of the Bay High School Tournament at the Timonium Fairgrounds on November 17, 2012 to qualify for the 2013 VEX Robotics World Championship in Anaheim, CA April 17-20, 2013. During the competition in Timonium, Calvert Hall formed an alliance with Towson High School and the Super Sonic Sparks, a team from the Carroll County 4H program that includes Patrick McQuay ’12, to win the event which featured 75 teams and was sponsored by Baltimore County Public Schools.
The World Championship in Anaheim is a gathering of top robotics teams from around the world to celebrate their accomplishments and compete with/against the best of the best. It will include top teams from over 230 VEX Robotics Competition tournaments contested around the world from May 2012 to March 2013.
