4/19/13 – Upstate NY – The Albany CBA Boy’s Lacrosse team is grateful to a couple of opponents after their former CBA multi-sport standout Torey Williams died in a motorcycle accident on April 6.
Thanks to the St. Joe’s and CBA Syracuse teams for accommodating game rescheduling, the latter offering a game creating what the New York Sports Writer’s blog called a, “Brothers vs. Brothers clash” on Monday (4/15/13). For the game, CBA Syracuse ‘retired’ their #3 uniform in honor of Torey and provided #3 stickers for everyone’s helmets.
To honor the event, both teams came together for a team picture. Per the blog, “It was great to receive such huge displays of sportsmanship when you take into consideration we had never played St. Joe’s before and last played CBA Syracuse in 1998.”
