The new construction comes after years of investing in new academic programs and growing enrollment.
“That excitement that that’s created has kind of lead us to this point. The excitement that we feel here in the school every day, the people that are close to the school share in that excitement,” beamed James Schlegel, the head of school.
The construction is part of a larger $5.2 million capital campaign.
“We’re also making strong investments in our academic programs, in professional development for our teachers, and our endowment,” Schlegel noted.
In a surprise announcement, the school also said that starting next school year it will be adding a fifth grade with about 20 students.

After that, it was shovels in the ground and a blessing for the new wing.
“In blessing, what we do is not just impart a magic spell and then go away. Blessing is a sign of presence, God’s presence, in our lives, wherever we are and whatever we do,” Bishop Edward Scharfenberger explained.
The wing is expected to open for the new school year in September.
