School spirit was alive and well in the halls of Christian Brothers Academy Sept. 23-28.

In celebration of the school’s annual Homecoming weekend, students and faculty participated in Spirit Week. Spirit Week was a time for students to have fun and show their CBA pride. A specific theme highlighted each day.  Monday was “dress down” day at the school as students were able to shed their mandatory dress code clothes for jeans and shorts.  Students dressed in outlandish attire on “Tacky Tuesday.” “Western Wednesday” saw many of the students dressed in flannel shirts and cowboy hats. Students sported garb from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s on “Throwback Thursday.” And Friday was Purple and Gold Day.

A pep rally was held for the student body on Friday afternoon Homecoming festivities continued on Friday night prior to the CBA-West Genesee game as the Alumni Association hosted a potluck tailgate.

The Brothers went on to defeat the Wildcats, 41-7. Seniors Andrew Romagnoli and J.R. Zazzara were named the Alumni Association’s Defensive and Offensive Players of the game. Romagnoli ran an interception back for a touchdown and recovered a fumble to set up a CBA score. Zazzara completed 4-of-8 passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 58 yards on nine carries.
