Dewitt, NY – The Christian Brothers Academy athletic and advancement departments and the Booster Club presented the ninth class of the Lasallian Athletic Hall of Fame at a dinner and induction ceremony recently at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel. Nearly 200 attended the event, which is a bi-annual celebration of CBA Athletics. The Athletic Hall of Fame Award ceremony alternates every other year with the CBA Distinguished Alumni Award ceremony, which will take place in November 2017.

Established in 2000, the Lasallian Athletic Hall of Fame honors men and women who have made meaningful contributions to the CBA athletic program. This includes graduates who have exhibited a degree of accomplishment in their field of endeavor, after having distinguished themselves in their interscholastic athletic pursuits while at CBA. Varsity coaches and loyal supporters who have devoted themselves to the betterment of the CBA athletic community are also eligible to receive the award.

The 2016 class included:

Ken Moliski ’73 (cross country/indoor and outdoor track)-Ken Moliski was a cross country and indoor and outdoor track star all four years at CBA, breaking 4:20 in the mile, as one of the highlights of his career.

Bob Vinciguerra ’79 (baseball and basketball)-Bob Vinciguerra was a four-year member of the baseball team that won three league championships. He was a First Team All-CNYCL in baseball in 1978 and 1979 and a First Team All-CNYCL in basketball in 1979.

Don McClure ’83 (football, hockey, baseball)-Donald McClure was an All-State and an All-CNY selection in baseball. He was named All-League for football (1982), hockey (1982 and 1983) and baseball (1981, 1982, and 1983).

Dr. Michael Adornato ’86 (football and lacrosse)-A four-year starter for both football and lacrosse, Dr. Michael Adornato was an All-State Selection for football and an All-League selection for both football and lacrosse. He was captain of both teams as a junior and senior and selected team MVP for both sports.

Marty Nowicki ’88 (golf)-Marty Nowicki was a four-year varsity golf letterman and a 1988 NYSHS Championship Qualifier.

Kelly (Niland) Mulanaphy ’03 (soccer and basketball)-Kelly (Niland) Mulanaphy was a five-year varsity starter in soccer. She was a three-time All-New York State and All-CNY selection and earned All-League honors in all five seasons. In basketball, she was named second team All-CNY and was a fourth team All- New York State selection.

Doug Sedgwick (girls lacrosse)-Head coach Doug Sedgwick has guided his girls lacrosse teams to three State Championships in all three classes (A, B, C) in his 12 years at the helm.

1961 baseball team (coached by Babe Testone)-Members of the team included: Pete Barclay, Joe Brooks, John DeFrancisco, Bill Doyle, Bill Fitzgerald, Jerry Foody, Paul Frazier, Jim Gaffney, Bill Gallagher, Karl Kalinowski, Pete W. Keenan, John Lander, Jim Lavoy, Jim Michaels, Mike O’Neill, Bill Reitmeier, Jim Sacco, Mike Stella, Andy Tursi, John Zulberti. The team compiled a 13-1 record and won the league championship.

1972 wrestling team (coached by Gary Barnaba)-Members of the team included: Guy Bercier, Mike Bongiovanni, Pat Burns, John Callahan, Steve Hackett, Tom Harris, Kerry Hopkins, Kevin Hopkins, Mike Kolinski, Rick Mantione, Paul Mortensen, Joe Mullin, Ron Pelligra, Joe Ranieri, Lee Rogers, Deke Ryan, Jim Skopek, Ron Spadafora and Rusty Tassini.
