Dewitt, NY – Christian Brothers Academy students had an opportunity to learn more about organizations in the Syracuse area, as Peer Ministers hosted a Service Fair in the Callahan Gym on Feb. 4.
Over 20 local organizations were on hand to provide information and answer questions from students. It was a great opportunity for students in all grade levels to not only learn about the organizations, but to get some ideas for service for confirmation and the service hours that they are required to have for school.
“All of our students can benefit from a constant reminder that it is our responsibility as Christians and part of the world community to help others and serve for the greater good,” said Marijane Finlay, Campus Ministry Service Coordinator. “The Service Fair is a great way to connect our students with organizations in the community that may appeal to them.”
Organizations that were represented at the Service Fair included: Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, Crouse Hospital, ARISE (Farm and family services), Samaritan Center, Camp Healing Hearts, ASPCA, Van Duyn, Ronald McDonald House, Upstate Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Francis House, Menorah Park, Camp Alverna, St. Camillus, Northside CYO, Meals on Wheels, Rosamond Gifford Zoo, VA Medical Center, Assumption Church Services, St. Vincent de Paul and Camp Sunshine.
