Evie Lopoo ’15 was chosen as the first ever Christian Brothers Academy student to receive the prestigious Yale Book Award. The award is given to one junior per school. Lopoo will be a senior in the fall.
CBA has always given book awards to juniors at the Honors Night ceremony, including ones from Harvard, Cornell and Dartmouth, but this is the first year Yale has been added to that list.
The award is based on Lopoo’s academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, community service, leadership roles and her outstanding character. The Yale Club of Central New York donated the award and the book, and was presented by Yale alum, Alison Schaffer.
Lopoo is the daughter of Leonard and Melissa Lopoo of Syracuse.
