Leana-Hohman

For our 6th annual District Christmas Card contest we had 70 entries, our biggest turnout ever! Even with all these entries we still had to pick one piece of artwork. A special thanks to all our student artists, and our art teachers for promoting the contest from these DENA ministries:

  • Bishop Loughlin Memorial HS – Brooklyn, NY
  • Calvert Hall College HS – Towson, MD
  • La Salle Academy – Providence, RI
  • St. John’s College HS – Washington, DC
  • St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute – Buffalo, NY
  • St. Raymond High School for Boys – Bronx, NY

Leana Hohman is a 15 year old Sophomore at St John’s College High School. She was born in Washington, DC and has lived there her whole life. Starting at a very young age, Leana expressed an interest in art. She always wanted to spend her time doodling or painting. Since then, she has taken numerous courses outside of school including still life painting classes and many art camps. As a freshmen, she took Foundations in Art and is currently enrolled in AP Drawing and Painting Prep. Her art classes at St. John’s have introduced her to new mediums such as oil painting and charcoal drawing.

Besides creating art, Leana also enjoys playing lacrosse and field hockey. Her favorite subjects are math and science. She hopes to continue her art career through her time at St. John’s and beyond. After high school, Leana plans to attend a college where she can study to be an architect or pursue some other kind of career in science.
