Washington, DC – In August, some graduates of San Miguel School, Washington, DC, gathered at a local park for a reunion BBQ (right). These Miguel Men included high school alumni at St. John’s College High School, Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Archbishop Carroll High School, Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School, DeMatha Catholic High School. Alumni at American University and Montgomery College also attended.
San Miguel started the fall term with a new class of 20 6th graders, as well as several new students to 7th and 8th grades (below). Although most of these new Miguel Men attended summer school, the newness of uniforms, different teachers and staff, and a full nine-hour schedule was a bit overwhelming for some.
Sixth-grader Victor shared “My first day was exciting because I learned new procedures and prayers, different from my old school. This school, I know, will give me a good education.”
