full-schoolNew York, NY – After a long summer transition, and the beginning of the school year, it was finally time for the De La Salle Academy family to celebrate! From one floor on the Upper West Side, to an entire school building of its own, the De La Salle community took an evening to commemorate the move to its new home on 43rd Street with a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

Family, friends, Brothers, supporters, students past and present, were all on hand to applaud the fruits of a successful campaign and mark the next chapter in the school’s history. After 30 years, De La Salle can call the former Holy Cross School its permanent home, making $2.5 million in renovations, and  raising an additional $5.5 million for a new endowment to cover the increased operating costs of leasing an entire building, rather than just one floor.

There was great excitement in the air, as beaming students proudly led tours of their new school, showcasing the many programs that the Academy offers. Presentations by the school’s leadership as well as Trustees and project manager highlighted the extensive work done, and the many people to be thanked that made the dream of De La Salle’s new home possible.
