1920: One of the most influential American Christian Brothers died on this date. Brother Maurelian founded Christian Brothers College (now University) in Memphis in 1871 and organized the acclaimed Christian Brothers’ exhibits at the World’s Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition (New Orleans, 1884) and also at the World’s Columbian Exposition (Chicago, 1893).
