West Catholic Preparatory High School, Philadelphia PA

My name is Aalayah Williams-Hunte, and I am a senior at West Catholic Preparatory High School. I chose West Catholic because of the great community. At West, I can grow and focus on my education while creating strong connections with my classmates. I feel supported by my teachers and know that they are guiding me on my path to success. I aspire to go to a great university and study Sports Medicine after high school. I know I will be able to accomplish thesegoals because of the support of the West community.

I am grateful for the tuition assistance I have received through the St. John Baptist de la Salle Fund, which has allowed me to obtain a quality West Catholic education. This assistance allowedmy parents to send me here. I was able to join the girls’ basketball team all four years of high school, creating strong bonds with my teammates and coaches. I have learned valuable lessonsjust from being a part of the team.

Being at West Catholic has taught me that hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed. From my freshman year to my senior year, I excelled in my classes, thanks to the great teachers and a strong support system. I am thankful for all the lifelessons and connections I have made at West Catholic and will continue to be a proud Burr long after I graduate.

THE ST. JOHN BAPTIST DE LA SALLE FUND seeks to ensure that a Lasallian education is available and accessible to those students most in need.
