This was the opening of the Sesquicentennial of St. John’s College High School (Washington; 1851-2001), when a special Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Parish in downtown Washington. The Christian Brothers’ school in Washington–not yet bearing the name of “St. John’s”–had two pivotal years (1866-1868) on the property of St. Patrick’s Parish.
