RIVERDALE, NY – Continuing in Manhattan College’s Lasallian tradition of service to others, five Manhattan College seniors have been offered opportunities at service-based organizations throughout the country.
After working on a state Senate campaign in her home state of Connecticut, Alannah Boyle ’18 will join NETWORK, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. that advocates for social justice, inspired by Catholic sisters. Boyle received the College’s Gunn Medal for her outstanding leadership and service to the College during her years as a student.
Cameron Gribbons ’18 and Melanie O’Connor ’18 have been offered positions with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, an organization of lay volunteers who volunteer one year or more to community service with poor communities.
Julia Jenkins ’18 will join the Peace Corps, a service program run by the United States government that gives volunteers the opportunity to immerse themselves in a community abroad, working alongside local leaders.
Bridget McEvoy ’18 has accepted a position with Lasallian Volunteers, a program of the De La Salle Christian Brothers of the Lasallian Region of North America. Lasallian Volunteers provide one or more years of service to schools and agencies of the Brothers whose mission is to serve the poor.
