The La Salle Institute Honors Environmental Science class spent several class periods designing and building basic hovercrafts. This activity provided students with a hands-on learning activity where students learned basic construction techniques and exposure to alternative energy ideas in the areas of transportation and energy consumption.
Students worked together in small groups to build their crafts. They tested their crafts against each other recording data such as time, speed, distance, and net force.
