This year (1938) marks the 80th anniversary of the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Bernadette at Lourdes, France, in February 1858.

Five schools in the New York District have replicas of the Lourdes grotto on their campuses, namely:

  • La Salle Military Academy (Oakdale, Long Island)
  • Manhattan College
  • St. Joseph’s Normal Institute (Barrytown)
  • La Salle School (Albany)
  • Hillside School (Troy)
