New York, NY – La Salle Academy was heard yesterday throughout New York State as our students and faculty stood shoulder to shoulder in La Salle’s gym to demand state leadership pass the Earned Income Tax Credit bill. The bill would provide tax relief and millions of dollars for scholarships and the like for those that choose Catholic or private education.

Brothers’ boys and all friends of La Salle Academy were made proud, as students stood firm with clarity and integrity. Speaking to a packed gym of students, community leadership, press and faculty, Student Council President Adrian Corbin and Vice President Aidan Gomes wowed the crowd with impassioned speeches about the sacrifices their parents made to get them to La Salle. Dean of Students and alumnus Ray Polanco pumped them up with his powerful talk on what the rigorous, Catholic education at La Salle has meant to 166 years of boys and their families. La Salle Academy is grateful to Opportunities in Education for sponsoring the event with the school.
