Students on second service trip in Montana;
another group in New Orleans
4/20/12 – Browning, MT / New Orleans, LA – Twelve La Salle Academy students have traveled to Browning, Montana to the Blackfeet Reservation on a Service Immersion Trip for the second consecutive year. The Blackfeet Reservation is located north of Glacier National Park. De La Salle Blackfeet School is a San Miguel modeled school with grades 4-8. The children who attend the school are Blackfeet Indians learning and sharing in the mission of St. John Baptist de La Salle.
The students from La Salle are Eric Brown, Michaela Burns, John Capellan, Christina Castle, Annie McGunagle, Franceska Mernick, Emily Papazian, Josh Rodriguez, Katie Santilli, Erin Sayles, Natalie Silvia, and Michael Stephens (pictured). They are helping in the classrooms, mentoring young students and learning about the Native American history and culture. The teachers on the trip are Christine Estes and Brian Ciccone.
Another group of sixteen La Salle Academy students are spending their spring break vacation on a mission trip to New Orleans. The students on the trip are: Ben Averill, Maguire Burgess, Kyla Burke, Eilish Clare, Christine Coughlin, John Estrada, Hannah Lavin, Marco Lomazzo, Jennifer Mannix, Elizabeth Nigro, Alexa Paiva, Victoria Peloquin, Jessie Ringiewicz, Victoria Stephens, Taylor Turner and Eileen Welch. Teachers on the trip are Brian Broulliard, Janice Drolet, Dave Ricci and Elissa Cerros.
