5/23/2011 – Philadelphia, PA– La Salle University honors all students for their constant, outstanding performance and involvement in service activities over the course of their education. While La Salle has played an important role in the life of Philadelphia, students have learned to extend their participation while achieving the mission once proclaimed by St. John Baptist De La Salle.
On May 2, 2011, 22 graduating seniors were honored for the quality and the quantity of the service they engaged in over their time at La Salle University. These students received sashes referred to as “Justice through Service Sashes” at a special ceremony in the De La Salle Chapel and were eligible to wear them at Graduation Ceremonies on May 15th.
Recognition goes to 15 students who were part of a College Challenge Habitat for Humanity in Dade City, Pasco County Florida spent a week building houses and working with local members of the community.
