Philadelphia, PA – Lasallian Youth Assembly, in its second full day, would head out for its first day of service in the Philadelphia community. Working with the urban poor, conserving public green spaces, preserving historic prayer spaces, and enhancing the lives of single mothers and their children, LYA attendees made an impact in the city, only a stone’s throw from the La Salle campus.

Later in the evening, students and moderators had the opportunity to “unpack” their service experiences, first with an educational Service presentation by Ms. Kathleen Glackin, Recruitment Coordinator for the Lasallian Volunteers. Glackin’s presentation helped students discern their direct and indirect service, and the spiritual implications it has. Students took the new framing of their service to their group conversations and evening prayer.
