The world woke up to the tragic news of war against Ukraine.

Pope Francis has called for Ash Wednesday to be a day of fasting and prayer for an end to the aggression against Ukraine. As part of the universal Church, let us join with Pope Francis in prayer and fasting for a quick resolution to this tragic situation.

Today we hold in prayer all who are affected by the war in Ukraine. We especially uplift the lives already lost in this armed conflict, and we pray for a radical and swift return to peace and diplomacy that upholds the dignity all of those impacted by this conflict. We pray that the Spirit of comfort and compassion be wrapped around all those presently living in fear in this region.
