La Salle College Civics and Social Congress

Br. Elzear Alfred (Kelly), president of La Salle College (1928-32), was ahead of his time. In the 1930s, he founded and animated a series of adult education opportunities which trained labor leaders; it was known as the La Salle College Civic and Social Congress.

Spotlight on Br. Barnabas

Br. Barnabas of the New York District was extremely proactive in the Christian education of youth. One of his many accomplishments was the founding of the youthful branch of the Knights of Columbus which was known as the Columbian Squires.
