La Salle Academy (Providence) is honored to announce that three of their athletic coaches have been chosen for awards from prestigious organizations. Sean Reddy ’79 is being honored by Words Unlimited as the Schoolgirl Coach of the Year for his 2013 state championship in Girls Basketball. Lindsay Longval has been named the New England Coach of the Year for Private Schools by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for her 2013 state championship in Girls Soccer. Finally, Steve O’Donnell ’78 has been named the Northeast Coach of the Year for Boys Lacrosse by the National Federation of High Schools for his 2013 state championship in Boys Lacrosse.

Coach Reddy will be honored on February 16th at the Words Unlimited Banquet in Warwick. The 2013 state championship was Coach Reddy’s eighth championship in the past eleven seasons.

Coach Longval will be honored on January 17th in Philadelphia at the NSCAA Conference. Coach Longval’s soccer team has won three of the past four state championships.

Coach O’Donnell was the recipient of the Northeast Sectional Coach of the Year Award from the NFHS Coaches Association. The Northeast region included the six New England states and New York and New Jersey. Coach O’Donnell’s team repeated as the state champions in 2013.
