Brothers Move to New Generalate, Rome

RomeMotherhouse

In late October, the work on the expansive, new Generalate (world headquarters) of the Christian Brothers on the Via Aurelia in Rome was finally completed. During the summer, the Superior General (Br. Junien Victor) and his twelve Brother councilors, along with the numerous Brothers employed as staffers, had moved to the structure in Rome from Belgium, where the Brothers’ headquarters had been since 1904 because of political/religious friction in France. Plans are being made to move the remains of St. John Baptist de La Salle, still located in Belgium, to the chapel of the new Generalate in Rome.
