Here is an image in which all Lasallians can take pride.

50CoverStoryThese three windows in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington were dedicated and blessed in May 1962.

They were the gift of the Christian Brothers of the United States for the construction of the National Shrine.

The left-side window features De La Salle founding the first teachers’ college, surmounted by “Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools.”

The center window focuses on Christ the Teacher, but also announces the title (Patron Saint of Teachers) given to De La Salle in 1950. The remaining window shows a more modern scene with “Live Jesus in Our Hearts” at the base, surmounted by a scene of the 12-year-old Jesus teaching in the temple.
