After nearly thirteen years of dedicated service as the Associate Executive Director of the Office for Mission & Ministry, Mrs. Maryann Donohue-Lynch will retire June 1, 2023.

Beginning her tenure in DENA in the summer of 2012, Maryann helped to solidify the work of the then less than three-year-old Office for Mission & Ministry. Serving with then Executive Director Alan Weyland, Maryann was central in establishing many of the now foundational governance structures such as the Mission Assembly and Mission Council.

Maryann was also critical in growing many formation programs and retreat experiences, particularly the Brother Luke Salm Religious Education Workshop, VEGA Young Lasallians, the Women’s Retreat, and most recently the Spiritual Accompaniment Program.

For the last 20 years, Maryann has also been instrumental in organizing the Lasallian Youth programs. Her expertise in religious education, evangelization, and spiritual formation will be greatly missed.

Maryann has also been actively engaged, sharing her wisdom and experience at both the Regional and International levels. Over the years, Maryann has been a presenter at the Buttimer Institute, Brother John Johnston Institute, and multiple Huether conferences. In addition, she has served on various committees of the Region and as a delegate to the second (2013) and third (2022) International Mission Assemblies. Her commitment to high quality religious education, as well as to the poor and marginalized, has helped shape and positively influence the last two International Assemblies and the proposals which flow from them.

Her international travel led her to co-found Lasallian Women of Hope, an organization that works to ensure girls and women enjoy full access to Lasallian education, especially in some of the poorest areas of the world.

Throughout her 29-year Lasallian journey, whether serving as the Campus Minister at La Salle Academy in Providence, the Principal at Saint Raphael Academy, or the Associate Executive Director in the Office for Mission & Ministry, her zeal for the mission has been unwavering.

With a deep sense of gratitude for all she has done to further the Lasallian mission, working to bring about the reign of God, we wish Maryann well as she moves to the next stage of her life.

We are grateful that this next stage will see her continued involvement with Lasallian Women of Hope and free her to spend and enjoy much more time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
