Mr. James Logan

Eatontown, NJ – The Brothers of the Christian Schools District of Eastern North America (DENA) is pleased to announce its next Director of the Office for Mission and Ministry. An appointment of the Provincial/Visitor, Brother Robert Schaefer, FSC, has tapped Mr. James Logan to head DENA’s Office for Mission and Ministry, with Mr. Logan’s mandate officially beginning January 1, 2022.

A long time Lasallian educator and Administrator, Jim Logan has been an integral part of DENA’s educational mission since the District’s formation in 2009. One of the first members of the Mission Council, a body created to give voice and garner guidance from informed Partners-in-Mission, Mr. Logan is no stranger to Lasallian Education throughout DENA. The Mission Council’s Chair for the past 5 years, Mr. Logan, in partnership with numerous Lasallians, has helped shape our educational work over twelve years.

“Jim Logan’s continued and consistent ‘yes’ to the Lasallian educational mission is a testament to his deep faith and incredible zeal for the work of the De La Salle Christian Brothers and Lasallian Partners,” said Br. Robert Schaefer, FSC. “I am grateful that Jim has once again said ‘yes’ to this invitation to be part of DENA’s leadership team.”

A delegate to both the District’s first Mission Assembly in 2010, and the 2013 International Mission Assembly, Mr. Logan is a graduate of the Region’s Lasallian Leadership Institute.

“I am humbled and honored to be joining Br. Robert and the outstanding leadership team at the District. Br. Robert’s administrative and international experience provide him with a unique perspective on the future of the Lasallian educational mission and I very much look forward to working with him to bring about his vision for DENA,” said Jim Logan. “I am also very excited for the opportunity to work with our colleagues from across the District who provide daily an incredible diversity of ministries and services to the young people entrusted to our care.”

Currently serving as the Director of St. Francis & St. Vincent Homes, part of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and a member of the Lasallian Association of Youth and Family Services, Mr. Logan is intimately aware of the needs of the most vulnerable youth entrusted to our care.

“Through his years of service in the St. Gabriel’s System, as the Director of De La Salle Vocational School and these past years at St. Francis & St. Vincent Homes, Jim has lived out the Lasallian charism as he has accompanied both staff and young people entrusted to his care. His experience will be a great resource in the ongoing development of quality formation experiences for all Lasallians of the District,” Brother Robert added.

A graduate of Dickinson College with a BA in English, and an MSS in Social Services from Bryn Mawr College, we look forward to Mr. Logan’s leadership, and ask for prayers and blessings of gratitude as he begins to take on aspects of his new role at the end of November, so as to be up to speed starting in the new year.
