Bishop Loughlin music program has a new state-of-the-art home
4/10/2011 – Brooklyn, NY – Music students at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School have a brand new reason to play some happy notes in Brooklyn. On Sunday, April 10, the Bishop Loughlin community came together for the dedication ceremony and grand opening of the Cozzi-Murray Performing Arts Center and Lancer Music Studio.
The day started with mass in the Lancer Chapel, followed by a ribbon cutting and dedication of the newly constructed performing arts center. Bishop Loughlin students demonstrated their musical skills throughout the event as part of the overall presentation, with chairman of the arts department, Louis Maffei conducting. Named after the primary donors and their parents, Michael and Jane Murray were on hand to deliver some remarks on how glad they were to be able to support the arts at Bishop Loughlin.
Built to be sound proof and acoustic friendly, the performing arts center also boasts smaller individual practice rooms, and a recording studio with top-of the-line soundboard and computer equipment; a stunningly visual and functional addition to the school.
