The very first issue of Life magazine was published. Years later, a 1959 issue of Life published a classic Joe Munroe photo showing about 25 students of St. Mary’s College (Moraga, CA) stuffing themselves into a telephone booth–with two fully-robed Christian Brothers gawking in the background. Yet another unique Life photo by Carl Iwasaki (1965) showed skateboarding Brothers Simon and Ambrose–both middle-aged and fully robed–during a break from their teaching at Mullen HS in Denver.
