The “School to Work” program encourages lifelong learning through the development of skills and understandings needed to take the initiative for real projects and tasks. Students will clarify their values about engaging in community life and consider their vocational aspirations, while learning how to reflect upon experiences and consider the relevance of that learning to one’s own ambitions. Another apsect of the “School to Work” program is to make new contacts and networks in the broader community who consequently can provide information, expertise, and access to resources. The academic program will include training in Culinary Arts, woodworking, landscaping, carpentry, and sail training, while recongnizing the interdependence of professional relationships in the workplace.
