Pope Francis beatified (declared “Blessed”) Pope Paul VI who guided the Church from 1963 until 1978. Before he became Pope with the name of Paul VI, Archbishop Giovanni Montini became an Affiliated (Honorary) Member of the Christian Brothers in 1954 because of his connections with the Christian Brothers. Four years after this beatification, he was canonized a Saint by Pope Francis (October 2018)
