The Brothers Visitor of the USA districts of the Christian Brothers filed their incorporation papers in the State of New Mexico as “Christian Brothers Major Superiors,” also known as “Christian Brothers Conference.” This legal incorporation coincided with the purchase of land for the building of Sangre de Cristo national renewal center near Santa Fe. Thus this date in 1960 essentially marked the creation of the USA-Toronto Region, as it was known for many decades.
