As one Lasallian family, let us continue to pray for peace in our world, especially for the innocent victims of the violence in Uvalde, Texas, at Robb Elementary School.

Let us remember we are in the holy presence of God.

Giver of life and love, our schools are meant to be sacred spaces, communities of learning and friendship where we care for the children “entrusted to our care.” Surround us with your love as we face again the tragedy of gun violence that has disrupted this sacred space.

We pray with hearts filled with sorrow for the children and adults that were killed at the Robb Elementary School, the many that were wounded and hospitalized, the traumatized, the grieving survivors, especially the parents and family members and those known to you alone.

Dear God, give them comfort and bless them with your presence.

God of compassion, we give thanks for the first responders who are still present at the school, care for all who are caring for those impacted by this tragedy.

God of tender mercy be with those who are overwhelmed, frustrated, and demoralized by the plague of gun violence, plant in them the seeds of hope, the courage of love and resolve to act to ensure the future safety of our children. We hold in prayer all those who hope in life in this world that is shattered and broken.

Loving God, make us instruments of your peace. Amen
