Pittsburgh, PA – On June 15, 2020, the District Council voted unanimously to approve Br. Steven Barbaro’s request to renew his annual vows. As a result, Steven did such on Saturday, August 22, 2020 in the presence of his community and Auxiliary Visitors of the District of Eastern North America at Central Catholic in Pittsburgh.

Steven’s vows were professed in the context of a liturgy organized by Br. Michael Andrejko, community director, and celebrated by Fr. Robert George, AFSC. Steven was joined in vow renewal by Br. Eric Henderson in commemoration of his 60th anniversary as a Brother of the Christian Schools. In addition, Mr. Jim Corcoran, Contact, was welcomed to the Central Catholic community as he begins a year as a Residential Contact.

A social followed as well as a meal organized by Br. Charles Huber. Blessings and congratulations to Steven as he continues his discernment as a Brother in initial formation. We pray in gratitude for the many dedicated years of service of Eric Henderson. He continues to serve the students at Central Catholic teaching Chemistry. Best wishes are also afforded to Jim Corcoran who will be teaching English and Religion to freshmen and sophomores.

The liturgy, which was live streamed on the District’s YouTube channel, is available for playback >
