Bishop Loughlin is first Catholic school in the city with sustainable skyhigh sanctuary
July 10, 2013 – Brooklyn, NY – On Wednesday, July 10, Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School’s administration unveiled it’s new rooftop garden, a first for any Catholic school in New York City, and the second largest Green Roof Project in Brooklyn.
Chosen by New York City’s Department of Environmental Protection for this Green Roof Project, Bishop Loughlin receives funding from the Green Infrastructure Grant Program. The project is expected to be completed by the start of the 2013 school year, and will have a significant impact on the school and the Fort Greene – Clinton Hill neighborhood. Eric and Mark Dalski, sons of Bishop Loughlin alum Andrew Dalski ’61, are heading up construction of the Green Roof Project, and invited Bishop Loughlin’s staff and guests up to learn more, with Loughlin students leading small group tours.
