4/9/12 – Washington, DC – The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the selection of Don Mullikin as President of San Miguel School, Washington, D.C.
Mullikin comes to San Miguel School, with a mix of business, education, and fundraising experience along with strong ties to the Lasallian mission and traditions. Mullikin also has nearly two decades of executive, management, sales and marketing, organizational development, and strategic planning business experience in the technology sector.
Most recently, Mullikin served as Director of Advancement as part of the School Leadership Team at De Marillac Academy in San Francisco. De Marillac is a school steeped in Lasallian and Vincentian traditions. Implementing the “San Miguel” model of education that is designed to break the cycle of poverty, San Miguel School, like De Marillac, provides a comprehensive, high quality Catholic education and specialized services to at-risk children. San Miguel School is committed to providing support, services, and opportunity to students as they progress through middle school, high school, college, and beyond.
Born in Washington, D.C., Mullikin’s first parish was St. Michael the Archangel, located about a mile from San Miguel School. He attended elementary school at St. Andrew the Apostle in Silver Spring and high school at St. John’s College High School, class of 1984. He studied electrical engineering and business administration at Villanova University in Pennsylvania. While remaining committed to health and education causes, Mullikin has served on boards and in advisory roles for non-profit organizations. He is in his third term serving as a Trustee of St. John’s College High School.
