The San Miguel School Board of Directors has appointed three new members to its governing body, effective July 1, 2018.


Joseph Schwartz currently works as an independent investment management professional. He is a former San Miguel Board member, previously serving as Treasurer and chairing the finance committee. He and his wife, Maria, have established a scholarship fund at St. John’s University that provides special consideration for San Miguel graduates.


Katie Spatcher is an Account Manager/Sales Engineer with Arden Engineering in Pawtucket RI, serving the healthcare, higher education and industrial markets. She has been actively involved in the San Miguel School community and has served on the school’s Facilities Committee.


Jamal Burk is a 2002 graduate of San Miguel who earned his high school diploma at Portsmouth Abbey and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Law and Policy from Dickinson College in 2010. Burke earned a law degree from Suffolk University in 2015 and is employed as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Rhode Island. He is the second San Miguel graduate to hold a seat on the Board of Directors.
