mcquade_johnsonGraduating seniors Sean McQuade and Ethan Johnson, have both received appoints to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Sean (left), who lives in Shelby Township, is active in track and cross-country, the Student Council, and the National Honor Society. He was a page in the U.S. Senate during the first semester of his junior year. He wants to attend West Point to make a difference for the country.

Sean says, “De La Salle focuses on developing a well-rounded individual – physically, academically, and spiritually. That ties in to West Point’s philosophy. It is the next step in a lifelong commitment to serve your community and your country.” He plans to major in International Relations. Sean’s appointment was from Congresswoman Candace Miller.

Ethan (right), who lives in Troy, is active in track and cross-country, is captain of the swim team, is a member of the National Honor Society, and is Student Council Treasurer. Ethan’s father, who is a U.S. Army veteran, encouraged him to try for West Point. Ethan is interested in engineering, and says West Point has one of the best engineering programs in the country.

“I want to serve my country. De La Salle equipped me for West Point by giving me discipline and the motivation to hone my skills. That same discipline is reflected at West Point.” Ethan’s appointment was from Senator Carl Levin.
